Gonorrhea

Gonorrhea

Gonorrhea is a sexually transmitted infection caused by a bacteria called N gonorrheoeae. Many women with gonorrhea have no symptoms, which is why screening is recommended for all sexually active women less than 25 years old and older women with risk factors including those with a new sex partner or multiple sex partners. Some women may complain of purulent vaginal discharge, burning with urination, bleeding between periods, or cramping.
