Infertility

Infertility

Infertility is defined as the inability to conceive after 12 months of unprotected intercourse. Approximately 10% of couples are affected by infertility. For women ages 35 and older, evaluation to look for causes of infertility should be considered sooner at 6 months. Some women with known conditions associated with infertility such as infrequent or lack of menstrual cycles, known uterine or tubal disease, or endometriosis should be offered immediate evaluation.
